museum relief

Sculpture course on carving a ‘museum relief’. In this course we learn the sculptural process of turning a sketch into a plaster relief. We take the rich collection of Mu.ZEE as a starting point and discuss certain key works relevant to the workshop. A work from the collection is adopted during the course and forms the starting point for a relief worked in modelling clay. We explore materials, learn to make a simple plaster mould and, finally, a plaster cast.
