Education
The young people’s workshop is the heart of the children’s activities at Mu.ZEE. Children aged between 5 and 12 can take part in a creative session with their class. First of all there’s a tour of discovery through the museum to whet their appetites, then they listen to exciting stories about the artworks, discover similarities and differences, philosophise about art with the guide and experiment with forms, lines, colours, rhythm and a wide variety of materials.

• ‘Mistress of the Horizon’ Exhibition (temporary from 18/2 to 27/5)
This artist incorporates artificial intelligence into her art. Collages, prints and texts are brought together in layers. Discover this explosion of ideas and colours!

• Masterpieces (from 18/2)
What makes a work of art a real masterpiece? We let ourselves be inspired by the stories, feelings, colours, forms and lines in the art of our most famous artists, like Roger Raveel, Panamarenko, Jean Brusselmans, James Ensor, Léon Spilliaert and Constant Permeke. Then we make our own masterpieces!

• Victor Servranckx Exhibition
Abstract art, complicated?! Can colours and forms transmit an idea independent of a subject? We’ll sweep you away to the rhythm of Victor Servranckx’s artworks. (temporary program from 15/9 to 24/12)

• Portraits
After a tour of Mu.ZEE’s portraits we create our own portraits with the help of some artful tips!

• Feast on maritime art
Visual impressions, feelings and fantasies of the sea... We discover the sea pictorially with the wonderful Mu.ZEE maritime paintings and then have a go ourselves!

• In praise of painting
Discover various painting techniques in the workshop after an exciting tour of Mu.ZEE’s paintings!

• A la carte
A workshop TAILOR-MADE for your class! Choose the theme for a fascinating tour of discovery at the museum yourself and then try your chosen technique yourselves!

Mu.ZEE’s stimulation room (without guide)
The stimulation room is a creative oasis in the museum. It is accessible free of charge to children, young people, families, big and small, young and old.  As of February we will be taking a philosophical look and pondering what makes a work of art a top work. There are playful and stimulating think and do tasks involving the art works.

RAAK (TOUCH) in the stimulation room! (from 2/5 to 30/5), by Rasa vzw
What does grass feel like? What does coal feel like? What does art feel like? In this exhibition we investigate what touches us in contemporary art and why artists choose particular materials as their language. We try to get the sensory in focus by feeling and seeing.

krokuskriebels @ Mu.ZEE
