Blanche Hertoge

In the series of the small file exhibition this time, following Pieter Vermeersch, Hugo Claus and Henri Storck, the spotlight turns to Blanche Hertoge. Blanche Hertoge, aunt of Henri Storck, ran a lingerie shop just two houses away from the shoe shop run by the Storck family in the Adolf Buylstraat. She had an art gallery on the first floor that was given the name Studio; in this space she organised piano and harp concerts together with her musical friends from all over Europe. Her friendship with James Ensor called for a renewed acquaintance and inspired this exhibition.
