During the Roaring Twenties artists created a new order in the world. ‘Community art’, a term coined by Jozef Peeters, aspired to the direct integration of art in daily life. ‘Construction’ was an inner need and the modern artist could not stop at oil paint on canvas or pencil on paper. ‘Modern Art Salon’ traces the lines from art on museum walls to art that ‘serves’ living spaces.
