Covid-19 measures

Measures taken in the context of the Covid 19 virus to make your museum visit as safe and pleasant as possible

! For your safety and that of the other museum visitors wearing a facial mask is mandatory during the museum visit.

1. Planning your museum visit

● A maximum number of visitors per time slot is strictly monitored. This depends on the floor areas. At Mu.ZEE, a maximum of 200 visitors are permitted at the same time. At Permeke Museum in Jabbeke, no more than 30 people are allowed in the house at the same time and no more than 30 people in the sculpture studio at the same time.

● To keep the number of people per volume and time slot strictly under control, Mu.ZEE uses an online ticketing system which encourages the advance purchase of tickets in time slots.

● The safety guidelines are clearly indicated on the Mu.ZEE and Permeke Museum website. It is also stated that Mu.ZEE is taking all necessary precautions but will not be liable if anyone falls ill.

● Mu.ZEE limits the number of visitors and disperses them as much as possible. For the time being, only individual visitors are allowed. In principle, visits together with members of the same household are possible.

2. Visiting Mu.ZEE

● The safety guidelines are clearly displayed on an information board at the entrance to Mu.ZEE.

● There is an instructional film about the measures taken so that the visitor knows what is expected of her/him.

● A member of staff opens and closes the entrance door.

● The online ticket is shown at the ticket desk. If a visitor does not have an online ticket, contactless payments can be made via bankcontact or by using Payconiq. If the payment terminal is used, it will be disinfected after use. There are also cotton buds available for pressing the keys.

● There is a plexi wall that separates the visitor from the member of staff at reception and the museum shop.

● The lockers are only used if absolutely necessary for safety (for bags that are too large). The visitor can request a key from the reception staff; after use, the key is put back in a separate container. The key is then disinfected.

● Folding chairs are available for use by less mobile visitors. After use, they are collected in a separate container at reception and disinfected.

● Markings have been made on the ground to indicate social distancing.

● Clear guidelines for visitors are displayed in the museum rooms. Where necessary, there are 'waiting spots' on the floor.

● No documents, leaflets or visitor guides are given to visitors.

● There are QR codes in the museum rooms so that additional information can still be provided. All visitor guides can be downloaded from the website.

● The Imagination Lab is closed to the public.

● Headsets and hats have been removed. In the Servais Wing and in the Ensor & Spilliaert Wing, seats where visitors may sit are marked.

● The security guards ensure that visitors pass each other as little as possible and that the minimum distance is observed. We urge visitors to disperse as much as possible in the rooms and in some rooms such as the Ensor & Spilliaert Wing and the Servais Wing, only a limited number of visitors are allowed.

● The security guards and the reception and museum shop staff are briefed extensively on the measures so that they can assist visitors as much as possible as well as monitor compliance with the amended rules.

● The sanitary facilities for visitors are cleaned thoroughly at least twice a day. Waiting spots are also provided here.

● Disinfection points have been installed at the entrance and at the museum shop where visitors can disinfect their hands.

● Visitors can make purchases in the museum shop, but nothing is wrapped in gift wrap.

3. Visiting Permeke Museum

● The safety guidelines are clearly displayed at the entrance to Permeke Museum.

● The online ticket is shown at the ticket desk. If a visitor does not have an online ticket, contactless payments can be made or payconiq can be used.

● There is a plexi wall that separates the visitor from the member of staff at reception and the museum shop.

● Markings have been made on the ground to indicate social distancing.
